Cancelled - Protecting our Coastline with Sharon Bleese, Coastal Manager

Unfortunately Sharon Bleese has had to cancel her talk on Wednesday. Sharon says: "You will have no doubt seen the situation that has unfolded in Hemsby over the last few weeks, resulting in loss of homes. I have been involved in supporting that situation. There are some additional concerns with tides mid-week next week and so all resources need to be focused on supporting our coastal communities."

Sailing on as many traditional types of boats as possible and endless travelling and research have made Robert Simper the authority on the history of the East Coast rivers, the people, and the boats. His travel has always included taking photographs, which have become increasingly important for illustrating his books.

East Anglian Ports in the age of the Black Death by Professor Mark Bailey - Booking Open

Dramatic changes in the fortunes of ports from Yarmouth to Colchester occurred in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries as their communities faced repeated outbreaks of the Black Death, global climate change and a severe and prolonged economic depression. The result was a permanent shift in their importance and standing.

Professor Bailey is the president of the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology and History. He is an historian and he played rugby for England in the 1980s.
