Sir Robin Knox-Johnston to return to ocean racing

Cruising Association Patron, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, is to return to ocean racing again, competing in the solo Route de Rhum Transatlantic race.

Sir Robin, 75, will be racing across the Atlantic 45 years after he became the first person to sail alone non-stop around the world.

Roger Pratt, Magnetic Attraction

CA member dies on yacht in Caribbean

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Roger Pratt. Roger and Margaret Pratt’s boat, Magnetic Attraction, was boarded by intruders in St. Lucia. Roger sustained serious injuries during this incident from which he later died.

Open House at the Cruising Association

The Cruising Association is opening its doors to all interested in cruising on the last Saturday of the London Boat Show – January 11.

The open evening begins at 18.00 and includes short presentations on ‘Going Foreign’ as well as sailing in the Baltic, Biscay and Mediterranean. There will also be tours of CA House which is home to a library of charts, pilot books and almanacs from around the world as well as every Yachting Monthly and Yachting World since they were first published at the beginning of the last century!
