COWES MEET

Shepards Wharf Marina         Saturday 21- Sunday 22 MAY 2016

Our first meet of the season will again be at Shepards Wharf but this year will take a different form as suitable BBQ facilities are not available.

It will, as always, be very informal and a chance to meet up with old friends and welcome new ones.

Solent Section Pre-Christmas Dinner, 11th of December

Our annual Pre-Christmas Dinner night this year will come with some entertainment by our very own Quiz-Master Alec Macpherson, who will, no doubt, be happy as always to reassure us in strident Scottish-accented tones saying that his latest nautical quiz, 'It's easy!'

Solent September Gins Farm Meet, 19th - 20th September, Gins Farm Beaulieu River

This is the last summer meet of the Solent Section’s  2015 Summer Programme.

The meet is on the Beaulieu River, one of the most attractive and least developed parts of the Solent and the location at Gins Farm Clubhouse is by courtesy of the Royal Southampton Yacht Club.

On the evening before, Friday 18^th, some boats will muster in Newtown Creek. If coming please let either Alec or Tim know.

Suddenly Alone at Sea – Practical training day afloat

Following the two shore-based days in March we have a day’s on-board training organised for Thursday 7^th May at the Southern Sailing School Southampton, an RYA Recognised Training Establishment.

We have two spaces left for that day.

All skippers and their crews are invited to apply for a space.

The Solent Section's first Meet of the season, the 'Cook Your Own' BBQ, is back in Cowes again where the Solent Section has been celebrating  this event annually in May over very many years.

This year we will be at Shepards Wharf Marina where a new Events Centre complete with BBQ is opening this April.
