For November’s CAptain’s Mate of the Month, we head to Scotland with CA member Alan Kohler, who has cruised extensively around the Scottish coastline, including a stopover in the popular spot of Tayvallich this summer.
Tayvallich is a small village in the Knapdale area of Argyll and Bute, with the well sheltered bay at the head of Loch Sween offering pontoon, mooring buoy and anchorage options.
Sharing cruising expertise is at the heart of the Cruising Association and to recognise members’ contributions to location information the Polaris Award has been launched.
The all-new Polaris Award will be presented to members who make an exceptional contribution to location information for the Cruising Association’s renowned Cruising Almanac, CAptain’s Mate and range of Cruising Guides.
The CA is pleased to launch our 2023 Calendar, featuring a visually stunning range of photos from members’ cruising adventures.
The selection of vibrant images takes you through the months with twelve shots of members’ favourite spots and wildlife sightings providing a showcase of cruising life.
As we announced on 23 September 2022, the Cruising Association is very proud that CAptain’s Mate has been nominated for the ‘Equipment Innovation of the Year’ category at the annual British Yachting Awards.
Enjoy a festive evening with CA friends beginning with a reception with mulled wine and mince pies at CA House, then processing to St Anne’s Limehouse for a candelight carol service. Stroll back to CA House where we will share an informal Christmas supper.
The Cruising Association hosted a webinar for members and non-members on Monday 17 October on ‘Channel Crossing Paperwork Procedures’, which has also been published for public viewing.
