Leonie Back, the General Manager of the Cirdan Trust, will talk about the work they do enabling young people, particularly the disadvantaged, to experience the challenge and adventure of life at sea on a large sailing vessel. The late Christopher Courtauld’s yacht, Duet, is part of their fleet.

Robin and Gillie have trailer-sailed their Cornish Shrimper 'Bumble Chugger’ for more than 20 years, including to Norway. A year ago they had adventures sailing up the River Shannon, through many large Loughs, then crossing through the canal to the River Erne in Northern Ireland and sailing to Lower Lough Erne which extends nearly to the North West coast of Ireland.

The Suffolk Section of the Cruising Association (CA) is delighted to welcome back cruising guru Jimmy Cornell to the Royal Harwich Yacht Club in Woolverstone, near Ipswich, on Saturday 3rd November. In a jointly hosted one-day seminar, the packed itinerary will also introduce Jimmy's daughter Doina Cornell who is sharing her family cruising experiences with the attendees.

Evening visit to an Observatory with the local (to Woolverstone) Astronomical Society

Date: 12th of April

Join us for one of these visits to the Observatory at Orwell Park, previously the home of Col. Tomline, a past commodore of RHYC.

Starting at 2000 at a cost of £5 per person, visitors will be sent joining instructions upon booking and will need to use their own transport to get to Nacton.

Every last Friday in the month (excluding Easter), RHYC will be open for Cruising people to get together to Socialise and discuss Cruising.

The Bar will be open 1900-2200, Catering from 1900-2100.

There will be a “Cruisers Supper” e.g. Chilli and Rice & a veggie alternative.

No need to book, just turn up.
