Baltic

An all day event including presentations on various aspects of sailing to and in the Baltic; the opportunity to talk to folk with experience of the individual countries, bring and buy sale.  Light refreshments included.  Prior booking with Baltic Section (not via CA House) is essential.  The Booking form is attached below.  This day is a must for those planning to visit the Baltic for the first time or wishing to explore further.

Baltic Section's informal evening when members have a chance to meet up and chat over a meal and a glass or two.  This evening is also a reunion for all Baltic Section rallies from the Millennium Rally to St. Petersburg 2013.  An excellent chance for new members to meet the Baltic family and get to know everyone.  All welcome.  Meals can be ordered from the bar.

Dr Brian John is our speaker for the first Baltic Section meeting of the 2013/14 winter season.  Join us to hear about the last Ice Age and the Baltic Sea (no, not last winter!).  An excellent opportunity to see your friends and share memories of the summer's cruises.  Meals can be ordered from the bar.  All welcome.

Talk by Janet and Horst Safarovic. Janet is our popular HLR for the Kiel area who, with husband Horst, spends every moment possible sailing in the Baltic. They are coming to London to tell us more about cruising this popular coast.  As Janet and Horst organised the location and events for this year's Baltic Rally, we are making this evening a reunion for Travemünde 2012 (and of course for all other Baltic Rallies). Come along to learn more about cruising Baltic Germany and to meet up with the "rallygoers".

Talk  by Charlotte Wilkinson

This talk will present Charlotte's experiences of sailing the west coast of Norway to Lofoten, (bizarrely on her way to the Caribbean..... now no bad jokes about female navigation skills).

Other seasons included voyaging to St Petersburg in 2010, and then to Jan Mayen and Iceland in 2011. This talk is about 'giving it a go', lessons learnt and about really having fun and enjoying being afloat on pocket cruisers. Her sailing base is in Greenwich, London.

The Baltic Section Travemunde Rally (16-19 August) is now full due to overwhelming support and, with regret, we are unable to accept any further applications.

A highly entertaining, illustrated lecture to bring back memories if you have already experienced "the divorce ditch" or much (if not all) you need to know if you are planning this crossing in the future.  CA members free, non-members £7.  Everyone welcome.
