New edition of CA Guide to the Netherlands Standing Mast Routes

A revised edition of the Cruising Association’s guide Through the Netherlands via the Standing Mast Routes has been produced by the CA’s European Inland Waterways Section (EIWS).

Through the Netherlands via the Standing Mast Routes updated 2025 editionSeveral hundred sailing and motor yachts travel the Standing Mast Routes each year, either for a leisure cruise or en route to the Kiel Canal and the Baltic. The new 92-page CA guide provides information on 14 different routes by which masted yachts can cruise in or transit the Netherlands.

Written by CA members Andy Mulholland and James Littlewood and edited by Gordon Knight, Through the Netherlands via the Standing Mast Routes comprehensively covers nearly 1,000kms of waterways, stretching from Vlissingen near the Belgian border to Delfzijl close to Germany.

Presented in A4 size and full colour throughout, the guide includes maps, distance tables, lock and bridge opening details, mooring information, along with colour photos to help skippers plan cruising routes. The content is updated annually, drawing on hundreds of reports submitted each year by CA members actively cruising the inland waterways, ensuring it remains an indispensable resource.
