Baltic and back in a season, by Bob and Sue Garrett

They sailed 3,800 miles, mostly day sailing, and visited nine countries, going as far as St Petersburg on Intrepid, a Dufour 365. They spent 182 days on board and will talk about why they did it, their preparation, the route, the practicalities and the places they saw.

Some things that can spoil your day at sea

Date:
Wed, 08/03/2017 - 19:00

Some things that can spoil your day at sea, by Vyv Cox

Yachts and their equipment suffer two principal failure mechanisms – corrosion and fatigue. The sea itself is responsible for the first and the yacht’s motion on it is largely responsible for the second. It is an unfortunate fact that some equipment on yachts is poorly specified to deal with either one or both of these mechanisms. This illustrated talk identifies what to look out for and how to correct problems where they are found.
