The Cruising Association is opening its doors to all interested in cruising on the last Saturday of the London Boat Show – January 11.

The Cruising Association is opening its doors to all interested in cruising on the last Saturday of the London Boat Show – January 11.

The open evening begins at 18.00 and includes short presentations on ‘Going Foreign’ as well as sailing in the Baltic, Biscay and Mediterranean. There will also be tours of CA House which is home to a library of charts, pilot books and almanacs from around the world as well as every Yachting Monthly and Yachting World since they were first published at the beginning of the last century!

Royal Navy continues its advice: Don’t sail in the western Indian Ocean

New pirate attacks on vessels in the Indian Ocean in the last week have renewed calls for yachts not to sail in the area.

The Cruising Association’s Regulations and Technical Services team - RATS – is part of a group closely monitoring events in the western Indian Ocean, liaising both with bodies within the marine industry as well as the Royal Navy.

And the continuing  advice has to be: ‘Don’t sail in the high risk area.’

Clipper Yachts Leave St. KATHERINE’S DOCK

Our patron Sir Robin Knox-Johnson was spotted looking suave and relaxed at the foot of Tower Bridge as the Clipper Yachts were leaving St. Katherine’s Dock for the start of their “Adventure of a Lifetime” on Sunday 1st September.
