We were delighted to receive over 60 Facebook Focus images fitting our entry criteria over the course of 12 weeks. These were gradually whittled down as we took to Facebook to announce a 'Shot of the Week’ or, in some cases where we have been spoiled for choice, to two or more 'Shots of the Week’. All shortlisted images were then allocated to an online album for the judging panel to select their favourite image in each of the four categories.
After the success of our first Safety Day at Ocean Safety in Southampton, we will be running a second one, this time at their Plymouth Centre. This again will be FREE for CA members and their guests and will be held on November 24.

The Cruising Association will host a packed line-up of talks on the Sika Marine Stage in the RYA Pavilion at this year's Scotland's Boat Show taking place at Kip Marina in Inverkip, near Greenock from Oct 12-14.
In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Sunday Times Golden Globe Race 2018 and the CA’s involvement with and support for its Patron Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, we are giving away two copies of Peter Nichols’ sailing classic A Voyage for Madmen, a book, published by Profile Books, detailing the extraordinary story behind the inaugural Golden Globe round-the-world sailing race of 1968, a Race which was won by Sir Robin, the first man to sail solo non-stop around the world and arrive back in Falmouth 10 months later on 22nd April 1969.

The Cruising Association responds to the demise of the London Boat Show
British Marine, the owners and organisers of the London Boat Show (LBS), yesterday (15 May) announced that the 2019 Show, due to run at ExCeL London from 9-13 January 2019, will now not take place.
The decision was made after independent research showed there was insufficient support from a large proportion of the marine industry to the London Boat Show with its current format, duration and location.
The Cruising Association joins in the celebrations in honour of its Patron Sir Robin Knox-Johnston
Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, the first sailor to complete a solo non-stop circumnavigation in 1969 aboard his 32ft yacht Suhaili, is Patron of the Cruising Association (CA), the UK’s leading organisation for cruising sailors with over 6,000 members around the world.
