Formed in 1908, the Cruising Association is Britain's leading organisation for cruising sailors. With over 6300 members around the world, we provide services, information, help and advice to sailors worldwide. We’re looking for a Personal Assistant/Marketing Officer to expand our small team and provide support to the General Manager. You will be a PA who has experience/wishes to work in a non-profit or club environment. You will be confident in managing yourself to deadline and taking control of complex travel arrangements, juggling multiple demands and ownership of tasks.
The role, based in East London (E14), will include the following tasks:
- Organising trade shows and preparing the relevant literature and travel
- Supporting a wide range of marketing activities in accordance with the General Manager
- Attending as well as assisting in the administration of internal events both in our HQ and around the UK
- Assisting in the administration of the Information Centre
- General office duties including invoice and chasing debtors
- Securing new discounts for members
- Improving member benefits
The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:
- Extensive diary management, organising internal and external events
- Attendance/organisation of trade shows and subsequent marketing
- Effective communication with people at all levels, both internally and externally
- Proven administration experience
- Enthusiasm for the marine/sailing industry (training will be provided)
- Marketing experience or an eye for design
- Basic finance administration
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
