CA Site Ring

The CA Site ring is a directory of Sailing-related Web and Blog sites by Cruising Association members. By clicking on either the associated home page thumbnail or the name, you can go directly to that site.
If you wish, you can search for a site either by entering its name in the Site Name box, or by using keywords (e.g. Baltic).

The CA is not responsible for the content of any site this directory links to.

This blog is about more than cruises: there are posts about a mutiny on the Guardian newspaper's Fastnet yacht entry and about how I was held personally responsible (in a manner of speaking) for sinking the Bank of England's yacht. We've sailed round Britain and Ireland twice and will do it again soon. I go deep into the arguments that still rage among yachtsmen and classicists about where Odysseus actually sailed. There are posts on building an Iain Oughtred lapstrake pram dinghy, electronic navigation and chart accuracy, our inland barge cruises, and regular trans-Adriatic races from Venice. We’ve been many times to France and Holland, spent three years recently on the Biscay coast and chartered often in the Mediterranean, the Adriatic and as far as the Seychelles. The blog now seems to be turning into the sailing equivalent of  The Oldie magazine - there are reminiscences from the 1950s onwards.

Moody 376 - "Tiftie".  Nine years of cruising, marinas, moorings and anchorages around the coasts of the UK from Plymouth as far north as Shetland, as far west as the west coast of Ireland.  Including twice through the Caledonian Canal and four times through the Pentland Firth, twice in each direction.  Also the coast of France as far south of La Rochelle and as far east as St Malo including the Channel Islands.  All either two, or single, handed.

Describes mainly voyages, but also explorations by bike, undertaken by us since 2003.
During the summers, we have sailed slowly from Harwich down the French Atlantic coast, along the Spanish north, past Portugal to the Algarve. We have spent seasons in the Algarve, Balearics, Sardinia and Corsica. Our catamaran, Razzmatazz, is now based in Preveza.
In the winters, we have explored Cuba, Kerala and Andalucia by bike.
The site is not a blog. I used to add a complete account of each voyage or journey once or twice a year, but of late our voyages have not merited any write-up!

A collection of summer cruises from Brighton to Trieste. Then back out of the Med to El Rompido in Atlantic SW Spain near the Portuguese border.

Aqua Blue is a Kelsall trimaran, launched in '76, and still going strong!

This is the story of two little bears who live on a yacht and from time to time go on long sailing trips.

List of blogs by year following SIRENA IV's travels around the UK, Holland and the Baltic. Written for family & friends, and for us to read in our dotage. May have the odd useful information for those following a similar path.
