Saturday 1st December 2018, Evening Meeting at RHYC Woolverstone
Bar open at 1800, meal 1845, talks 2000, finish approx. 2200
Jeremy will give a well-illustrated and intriguing talk, showing how a combination of sums, styluses, soldering and stubbornness enabled
Maxwell, Hertz, Marconi, Arthur C Clarke, Julius Caesar and many others to predict, prove, build and strengthen the communication systems that we now take for granted, bringing us from flags & flares, semaphore and cyphers to VHF, SSB, G&T and GMDSS. Including why every vessel should still carry a copy of the International Code of Signals!
Supper £14. Price includes attendance at the talk. There is a charge of £5 per head for members attending for talks only.
You can book via the RHYC website. If in difficulty call the office between 9am – 4pm Monday to Friday on 01473 780 319 and they will be happy to help.
