Med Seminar - 11th & 12th March, 2017 - CA House
In the recent past the Mediterranean Section Seminar has often been oversubscribed and we have had to turn down bookings.This year we have decided to run this event over two days on Saturday/Sunday 11th/12th March.
Each day will have a different theme, but there is something here for everyone. It will be a great opportunity to tap into the knowledge and experience of Med members ..... and to make new friends and meet people who have similar sailing plans.
You are very welcome to attend either or both days.
The focus on the first day (Saturday 11th) will be mainly for those thinking of going to the Med, or those that have been there for a few years:-

1115 -1200 The role of an Honorary Local Representative (HLR) and an overview of cruising in Greece - Tony Cross (HLR Crete)

1230 - 1300 To and From the Med - Graham Walker (CA member)

1400 - 1445 Weather patterns and sources of forecasts in the Med - Jim Bacon (ex TV weatherman, now MD of Weatherquest)
1445 -1530 Equipping your boat for Med sailing - Vyv Cox (CA member, engineer and regular contributor to the CA and YM/PBO)
1530 -1600 Q & A, Panel of Speakers
1600 Close and tea
The second day (Sunday 12th) will focus more on specific Mediterranean areas:-

1215 -1245 Cruising in the Dodecanese and Northern Aegean - Vyv Cox (CA member)
1245 - 1345 Lunch
1345 - 1430 Security at Sea and other issues affecting boating in sensitive areas - Ian Millen (COO Dryad Maritime)
1430 - 1530 A guide to the Spanish/French Coast, the West coast of Italy and Sicily - David Whittel and Andy Miller (CA members)
1530 - 1600 Q & A, Panel of Speakers
1600 Close and Tea
The cost of this event will be £20 per member per day. Non-members £40 per person per day.
NB: Although not anticipated, minor changes to the programme cannot be ruled out at this stage
