An introduction to cruising in Atlantic France, northern Spain and Portugal.

The Bay of Biscay is renowned for winter storms but what does it offer the cruising boater during the summer? Why do so many choose to linger? Are there any sheltered anchorages?

This seminar is for those who have yet to venture in Biscay Section waters, or who are intending to cruise southwards from Northern Spain towards Gibraltar.

Braving the Chenal du Four and the Raz de Sein, Ian and Carole Robinson

Is this passage as difficult as some of the pilot books would have us believe? Ian and Carole have tackled it several time in their Hanse 370 . They returned to Southern Brittany this year, so it could not have been that difficult.

Keeping a Boat in Biscay   Daniel Steenstra   Daniel has cruised down to Gibraltar, over-wintering his boat in several countries.

Northern Spain and Portugal, Nick Ellis Nick's logs of his cruises down to the Mediterranean have won several prizes. He has visited most of the ports in Northern Spain and Portugal. Nick and his wife, Judith,  will share their experiences of these very attractive cruising ground

Registration from 10.00, the seminar begins at 11.00. The cost of attendance includes a 2 course buffet lunch, teas and coffees. CA members £32.50. Non-members £47.50. Non-members joining on the day with a direct debit, will be refunded the difference in cost. This is a popular event and early booking is advised.
