Biscay Day, Sunday 17th of January, CA House

This all-day seminar, on the final day of the London Boat Show, is open to all CA members and their guests. The programme will feature a range of presentations of interest to boaters sailing or intending to sail in Biscay Section waters. The speakers will include:

Dr Andrew Eccleston, a Chartered Meteorologist and Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society. He worked in the weather business for about 20 years, providing forecast services to media and aviation. He recently retired from an academic post at Plymouth University. He will talk about using and accessing weather information while cruising from Plymouth to Southern Brittany

Barry Owen-Smith and Maggie Smith sailed from Gibraltar to the Azores. They liked the Azores so much that they have made it their sailing home. What is it that made it so special?

Henry Buchanan, the author of the RCC Pilot Foundation Atlantic Spain and Portugal. Last year he described Galicia and the Rias. He will speak about the delights and challenges of Cruising Portugal and onwards to Gibraltar.

Javier Moreno de la Vallida our HLR in Ribadesella will share the delights of cruising in Asturias and as well as updating us on the facilities for cruisers, will explore the culture and history of this region of Northern Spain.

The cost of attendance is £28.50 for CA members and £45.00 for non-members, this includes a two course hot buffet lunch, tea and coffee on arrival and mid-afternoon. All CA members, their guests and friends are welcome.
