Dinner & Talk at Blackwater Sailing Club
November sees the return of Alan Wilson who proved so popular last winter with his talk on heavy weather sailing. His talk is entitled “The Frozen North: Orkneys, Iceland, nearly to Greenland (until stopped by ice), Faroes”.
Alan started sailing aged 10: since then he’s sailed around 20,000 miles, mainly single-handed, including round Britain, round Ireland, the Baltic & Norway: this is the story of his attempt on Greenland via the Orkneys, the Faeroes and Iceland, taking 3 months and 3000 miles.
