The speaker is Tom Cunliffe – ‘Man is not lost’
A chance to hear Tom Cunliffe.
Tom is the well-known well travelled yachtsman, having cruised to many parts most of us only read about. He has also become a very well known yachting journalist, and talks very knowledgeably about all aspects of yachting including the development and safe use of navigational electronics, on which subject he will entertain our members and guests at the Royal Air Force Yacht Club.
He promises a heady mix of yarns and solid information from navigating with a sextant and pocket-watch to today’s chart plotters and how they can sometimes lead you astray.
Tom and his wife last came to talk to the Section in February 2006 and it will a splendid occasion to have him back.
PLEASE USE THIS MEETING TO INVITE YOUR CREW, FRIENDS AND RELATIVES TO COME AND SEE WHAT THE CA DOES AND HOW WE IN SOLENT ENJOY OURSELVES AS A CRUISING FRATERNITY! IT'S A WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY.
