The Other East Coast and Home – 5,000 miles with Six and Eight Year Old Children, James Kelman
In 2011 the Kelman family decided to race Croix des Gardes across the Atlantic, see the Caribbean and then cruise the "Other East Coast", or The Eastern Seaboard as the locals call it. Although they had two extra crew for the race to Barbados, it was only James and Sarah, along with Elizabeth and Matthew, who cruised to New York, and then just James, Elizabeth and Matthew who sailed out to Rhode Island to collect the passage crew and prepare for the return voyage across the pond. It was a challenge for all, sailing, touring and teaching all the way.
