Winter will only just be over, but we will be able to look forward to Mike and Angie Williams’s account of cruising in these remote, exotic and warm waters. Mike and Angie were lucky enough to be invited to cruise in the Philippines for two six week periods in 2004 and 2005. They sailed in a 54’ motor-sailor from East Malaysia into the Philippine Island with Mike’s cousin Dave and his wife Judi who had been based in Hong Kong for most of their working lives.
This was the first blue-water experience for Mike and Angie before they undertook their own voyaging from 2005-2011. This area is off the usual circumnavigation routes and a known pirate risk. I am sure that the evening will have a special poignancy after the recent disaster in these waters. Angie and Mike will depart with Lady of Lorien for points west in the spring of 2015.
