Tales of the North Sea - Section Seminar

Thinking of sailing in the North Sea or already doing it? – Come along to CA house to hear and share tales of this diverse cruising ground

Wednesday 24th April, 7pm, CA House

North Sea Section Secretaries, Peter Gibbs and John Blakemore, invite you to come to hear tales of the diverse North Sea cruising ground and join in the confession-fest for the greater enjoyment of our sport.

Peter and John have made numerous passages on the North Sea in their own yachts and experienced most of what nature has to bestow on even the wary. With the benefits of the occasional Plan B they are still here to tell the tale! For one night only the secretaries will undertake to reveal and share personal triumphs and disasters, perils and pitfalls, and other lessons learned over years of navigating the North Sea.

Programme

The seminar runs for about 2 hours beginning at 7pm, with a supper and drinks break at 8pm.

The focus of the evening is sharing experiences in working North Sea tides, the weather, dealing with shipping and lanes, pilotage, and all that’s essential to procure happy landings. Finessing the North Sea may be beyond our pay grade but in the North Sea Section we know we are all truly in it together!  So if you are thinking of sailing in the North Sea or already doing it, come along to hear more or share your tales and tips!
