Our last meeting of 2012 is on Tuesday, 4 December with Paul Heiney, long time member of the CA, writer, broadcaster and sailor of more than 30 years.
Paul Heiney fully expected to be the last man across the Atlantic and said it didn't bother him in the slighest. 'It's enough to be able to say you climbed Everest without having to run up it as well. And this is the sailing Everest - for me, anyway.'
Paul participated in 2003 Azores and Back race single-handed as well as the Singlehanded Transatlantic Race in 2005 in Bird Song a Victoria 38.
Paul wrote of his transatlantic experience in The Last Man Across the Atlantic and his talk is entitled Crossing the Atlantic for Beginners.
All very welcome.
Ticket price includes festive refreshments - mince pies, mulled wine and coffee.
Please note: Bar is available from 18:30 and the Talk starts promptly at 19:30
