National Gardens Scheme

Lunchtime Meeting at RHYC, Woolverstone. Coffee at 11:00, Talk 11:30, Buffet Lunch 13:00

Catherine Horwood Barwise, Assistant County Organiser of the Suffolk Branch of the National Gardens Scheme, and author of Gardening Women. Their Stories from 1600 to the Present (Virago, 2010), will come to talk about the history and work of the National Gardens Scheme, and feature some of the beautiful gardens which open their gates to visitors. A keen gardener who has opened two gardens herself for the Scheme for many years, she will also come up with some ideas of plants that will thrive on neglect during the sailing season!
