Cruising Association publishes new Moorings Guides to French Inland Waterways

The Cruising Association’s European Inland Waterways Section (EIWS) has launched updated editions of 17 guides to moorings on the French inland waterways.

The A4 full-colour guides, which are produced and edited by EIWS member Gordon Knight, cover popular canals and rivers, including the:

Each guide details all the marinas, haltes and other mooring points (even picnic stops) along the waterways, together with information on facilities, shops and nearby attractions. Each mooring point is illustrated by a colour photo, making the guides an unmatched pictorial reference for cruising the French rivers and canals. Reports on all the moorings are also included on CAptain's Mate, the CA's proprietary app, where CA members can post their updated online reports.

"These guides are gems,”"commented EIWS Secretary Julian Dussek. "They are packed with up-to-date and practical information you probably won’t find anywhere else. Is there, for example, a picnic table, a waste bin, or, most important, are there bollards or mooring rings? Is there water or electricity or a bakery? These are just some of the features collated, and all from first-hand experiences. Written by a user, for users, they are an invaluable asset for cruisers."
