A CA members web seminar for those planning or worrying about a Channel Crossing. We will start with a presentation on a first Channel Crossing and then have a panel discussion on questions raised by members during the web seminar and any provided in advance.

Our First Channel Crossing

Dave & Hilary Roissetter made their first Channel crossing in 2022 as members of the CA.
Like many others, they bought their first boat during the pandemic. While based in the Solent they wanted to broaden their horizons and cross the English Channel. They knew the theory but felt that wasn’t enough to overcome the anxiety of being all alone out of sight of land, nor the challenges of travelling to the EU in a post-Brexit world. They joined the CA Channel rally to gain confidence and gained many new friends. Hear what their concerns were and how these were or were not realised.

Channel Crossing Clinic

Dave and Hilary will be joined by our panel of regular Channel crossers including Cathy & Steve Lacey and Brian & Hilary Masters plus Channel Section Secretaries Bob & Sue Garrett. They will discuss some of the concerns for those new to crossing the Channel by responding to questions raised by attendees during the webinar as well as those submitted in advance.
