Annie Varvill and Chris Boutwood will present their experiences of sailing and over wintering in Tunisia.
Tunisia has become a popular destination for those needing to be out of the EU for a while. Yet it is only 120nm to a number of excellent cruising grounds in the western Med. As a destination in its own right if offers a range of marinas and ports. Local marine engineers offer good quality work at reasonable prices. The country is host to magnificent roman ruins and the mosaics at the Bardo museum in Tunis are among the best in the world.
Tunisia of course has had a troubled past, one of the first to overthrow their dictator in the Arab Spring to the tragic terrorist attacks in 2015, which decimated their tourist economy. But, people are friendly and glad to be of any assistance.
A Q&A session will follow the talk. Please use the Q&A button at the bottom of the screen to post your question. The speakers will aim to answer as many as possible.
