In the Wake of Giants, Sailing the Wildest Seas on Earth, Bjorn Riis-Johannessen

The Novara, Steve Brown’s 60ft aerorigged schooner, completed a 33,000nm circumnavigation of the American continents, passing through the North West Passage and visiting South Georgia and the Antarctic in the wake of many famous polar explorers. Bjorn Riis-Johannessen took part in the southern leg of Novara’s travels and in his talk he will cover sailing and on-shore adventures in the Antarctic regions, with an introduction recounting some of the historical highlights of polar exploration.
