The Day Skipper theory course is ideal for someone interested in learning how to sail or for someone that knows how to sail already but hasn't really done any navigation.
This is a shore based course. So all the lessons will be carried out in CA House. The course equips you with enough knowledge to navigate around familiar waters by day. A basic knowledge of lights is also included to introduce you to night cruising.

Details: A VHF radio is an essential piece of safety equipment and it is vital to understand the correct procedures. The course will teach you these procedures. To get the VHF Radio Licence, (Short Range Certificate SRC) you must successfully complete a course and then take a separate classroom based assessment. A professional sailing school, Hamilton Sailing, is now dealing with the administration and delivery of theory courses at CA House through to August 2013. It is a small company of experienced and highly competent enthusiasts with a reputation for delivering knowledge in an accessible and (fairly!) painless way. The company also has two yachts available for practical instruction and for cruising holidays to gain sea time.
