HRH The Princess Royal accepts Honorary Membership of the Cruising Association

HRH The Princess Royal has graciously accepted an invitation to become an Honorary Member of the Cruising Association (CA), joining an elite group that includes sailing legend Sir Robin Knox-Johnston and the prolific nautical author, Rod Heikell.

Refer a Friend Prize Draw: April 2019

If an existing CA member refers a friend to join the CA, the existing member receives £20 to spend in the CA Shop and the friend who joins receives a 25% discount on their first year's membership fee when paying by direct debit.

This year, we're extending the scheme to include the opportunity to enter a monthly prize draw throughout the sailing season, running from April through to September.

All the prizes, generously donated by some of our discount partners, are valued at a minimum of £120 RRP so it’s well worth members entering the Draw by referring a friend or two!

CA members have this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to pay homage to our Patron, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, as he celebrates exactly 50 years since he crossed the finish line at the end of the original Golden Globe Race and became the first man to sail single-handedly non-stop around the world.

The bar and restaurant at CA House will be closed from Friday 29 March, Saturday 30 March and Sunday 31 March, re-opening on Monday 1 April.

Greek Cruising Tax implemented

The Cruising Association (CA) has been informed that the Greek Cruising Tax known as TEPAI or TEPAH, will be implemented on April 2nd 2019. At present there is no on-line registration system so if you are cruising to or already based in Greece you will need to go to the Port Police by the 2nd of April to fill in all the forms. You have the choice to put your yacht “Out of Use”, or pay the tax.

CA President Julian Dussek was recently invited to join our Patron - and MS Amlin Yacht’s Brand Ambassador - Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, at a special 80th birthday breakfast event held in London during which MS Amlin also detailed their new sponsorship of the 2019 Yachting Journalist Awards.
