Launched last year, the CAptain’s Mate photo competition has attracted a wave of new photos to the app. Ian Wilson, Chair of the Cruising Information Development Group (CIDG) who oversees the app’s evolution, remarked, "The response to last year’s photo competition was fantastic. Each photo tells a unique story and helps us all navigate and discover new locations with confidence."
Whether you are adding photos to an existing location or creating a new one, your images are a valuable resource for fellow members. They do not need to be perfectly composed. What matters most is how your photo captures the essence of a place, tells a story and helps others plan their journeys.
To say thank you, we are offering a ‘CA Goody Pack’ for the best photos (as judged by the CAptain’s Mate editors) in the following categories:
- Most helpful for Pilotage
- Capturing the ‘Essence of a Place’
- Providing Useful Information
Members can upload photos to CAptain’s Mate from your smartphone, tablet or PC. It is quick and easy and only takes a couple of minutes.
If you have already uploaded photos to CAptain’s Mate this year, they will automatically be considered for the competition. Submit your photos by 31 December 2024 for a chance to win one of our thank-you packs.
