Coastal Forces ran Motor Gun Boats from HMS Beehive, a Naval Base in Felixstowe Dock, during WW2, usually crossing the North Sea under the cover of darkness. Julia Jones will tell us about one of these vessels. Many yachtsmen joined the RNVR and crewed these boats including Robert Hichens, who wrote down his story before he was killed in action in April 1943. Julia will also show an interesting short film of this era.
Julia Jones, of Golden Duck Publishing, has recently published this story in "We Fought Them in Gunboats" by Robert Hichens.
