Bob keeps his Rustler 36 in the Solent and had done all the usual sailing trips to Ireland, Spain, round Britain and the Azores. So, he set off for 80 degrees N, reaching Svalbard via Norway and explored the geography, wildlife and heritage of these northern lands.

Booking: No booking is required however, to comply with fire regulations, we require a list of those attending and will also provide name badges. Please therefore email to let us know you will be attending and the names of anyone coming with you.
Cost: CA members can attend for a discounted admission price of £2 instead of the £5 non-member rate. To take advantage of the discount, CA members will need to show membership cards. If you have the CAptain's Mate app you will have a digital card to show. Gerrards Cross Sailing Association (GXSA) members can attend for free.
Talks are run by GXSA on Wednesday evenings from October to December and January to March at Colston Hall. See details of getting there and parking here.
Note that the talks are also broadcast via Zoom, however this option is available to GXSA members only.
Prior to the talks, members may want to have an evening meal, for which there are various options:
- The Apple Tree (Gastropub: fairly close to Colston Hall, entering from the south (M25) or the West from the M40 Beaconsfield junction is the Apple Tree (Gastropub) on the A40 at the junction with East Common Road.
- The Ethorpe Hotel and Restaurant: entering from the North from the Amersham direction along the B416 towards the town centre.
- The Journeyman pub & restaurant within walking distance of Colston Hall
- Wildwood restaurant within walking distance of Colston Hall.
