Our series of one-day Information Days featuring specific countries continues with Germany Information Day.
Presentations will feature all aspects of sailing in Germany:
How to get there from the UK, including the Dutch and German Frisian islands;
Passage through the Kiel Canal;
How sailing in the Baltic part of Germany differs from sailing around the UK;
A German perspective on what British people might expect when they arrive in Germany;
A British perspective on what British people might expect when they arrive in Germany;
The German Baltic coast from the Schlei to Rostock ;
Sailing around Rügen and the bodden;
Inland waterways of Germany.
Nicholas Hill, Rolf and Cornelia Massow, current authors of the CA Germany Guide, will be the principal speakers. There will also be a short presentation on the German Inland Waterways by Roger Edgar from the CA European Inland Waterways Section. Admission: free to CA members. Non CA members £15 – pay at the door on arrival. (£10 will be refundable to those who join CA on the day). Bar lunches will be available. Information Days will not replace the Baltic Seminar which will take place on 10th February 2018 and which will continue to cover all aspects of Baltic sailing as normal.
