Croatia: probably the best cruising ground in the world, by Andrew Osmond
When Andrew and Kate bought their boat in 2005 they had it delivered to Slovenia, because it had the closest ports to Bavaria, where it was built. The plan was to move quickly on to the Ionian, which they knew well. However, they became enamoured of Croatia, enjoying its fantastic coastline, great sailing and beautiful villages. They keep their boat near Split, an easy two-hour flight from Gatwick, and visit the Adriatic three times a year for a total of about 15 weeks. In the talk, Andrew will look at the many good reasons to sail in Croatia but also at the inevitable issues that can crop up and how they deal with them.
