Results from the 2015 AGM

We would like to thank all members who voted in the 2015 AGM elections. By voting we ensure that the CA is being pointed in the right direction, giving positive change for all the members. The results of the elections are as follows:

President

Judith Grimwade has taken over from Desmond Scott as President of the CA.

With nearly 30 years’ membership under her belt, Judith knows the CA and its values extremely well. Judith said, “I look forward to continuing to broaden our membership, deepen members’ engagement and to raise the standing of the CA in the wider boating community.”

Vice Presidents

The Vice President line-up has remained, with Alison Hadley, David Kench and Ken Marsden continuing in role. Alison joined the CA 14 years ago with her husband John. She organises weekly events at CA House during the winter and chairs the Cruising Editorial Group. David joined 18 years ago and has been taking on volunteer tasks since 2009. Ken has been a member for the past eight years and has used his business experience to help the CA run smoothly.

Council

We welcome Sue Sutherland, editor of MyCA, and Jeremy Porter to the Council. Jeremy has been a member of the CA for 29 years during which time he has been a member of RATS and a longstanding member of the Finance Committee. Sue and Jeremy join existing members of the Council – Bill Anstead, James Collier, Derek Lumb, Julian Dussek David Fawcett and Ray Steward

Standing down from Council are Jim Baerselman and Andrew Osmond. The CA would like to thank them for working so hard for the CA during their time on Council. They’ve made a big difference, and they will be missed.

Honorary Treasurer

Richard Sherwood continues his term as Honorary Treasurer and is keen to ensure that the CA benefits from the changes to technology with his financial knowledge.

Honorary Solicitor

Peter Gray is a solicitor with 38 years’ experience in law. Having lived in Kenya, Hong Kong and Tokyo, Peter retired as partner of Clyde & Co. Today he owns an Oyster 46, which he sails with his wife and three adult sons.
