Following the success of the first Crewing Service meeting held via Zoom in November, we're looking forward to the first of 2021, and are discussing the possibility of using Zoom's 'Breakout Rooms' to allow more interaction between all those attending.
Skipper Alan commented: "I was delighted to join my first meeting of the CA Crewing Service by Zoom. It was a great session and very informative. As a skipper, I have registered cruising plans over the past 2-3 years but, living in Scotland, it has not been practical or economic to travel CA House for face to face meetings. With an increasing number of CA Members distributed across the UK and the world, it would be great if this type of virtual meeting can be continued in the future, complementing face to face sessions."
Once pandemic restrictions ease and we can once again meet in person at CA House, we do plan to continue holding meetings via Zoom so, if like Alan, it's not viable to get to London, we hope you'll continue to join us virtually via Zoom!
Recent news of the approval in the UK of the first Covid-19 vaccine will, we hope, be a first step toward opening up the possibilities for cruising next summer to begin to return to something nearer normal. Whilst nothing is certain, skippers may now begin making tentative plans so come along, virtually, to our next Zoom meeting and find out where an adventure on the water in 2021 might take you.
There will be an opportunity to put any questions you have in the chat window and we will answer them at the end. Further details of the 'Breakout Rooms' will be advised in due course.
