For many, crossing the Channel will be their longest passage of the year. How can this be best planned and executed to be as effective as possible?
Last January at the 2023 Channel Seminar one session presented this particular topic, and we are now happy to schedule this as a web seminar to reach a wider audience.
The presentation will look at the variables including wind, tide, sea state, the boat, sails and crew. Then consider tidal calculations and assessment tables, course to steer, best use of wind, the lee-bow effect, velocity made good, the effects of wind and waves on passage, and sail trim. All intended to get you safely and quickly to the bar!
Date: Monday 15th January
Time: 19:00
Venue: Online.
Registration (Required): This event is open to members, including Crewing Service members, only. You will need to login to see the link below.
